Data protection and artificial intelligence: what is the relationship?
Data protection and artificial intelligence, what is the relationship between these two elements?
We discussed this during “The use of AI and the practical implications of data protection, cybersecurity and ethical principles”.
The aim of these lectures was to focus on the protection of personal data, both to assess how it should be handled and protected, and to see what information is provided to users by various AI systems.
In general, users’ attention is focused on the output provided by AI, i.e., the output released, without investigating what data is processed and how it is protected.
Thus, the analysis covered both the tool used (platforms and applications of various types) and the process used, as well as the regulations to be applied.
Finally, the analysis led to an exchange of thoughts on the issues of liability and contractualization of AI usage procedures, as well as the legal implications for privacy and copyright.
Data protection will also be one of the key topics of the laboratory part of the Path of Excellence.
In fact, the students will be involved in the design and creation of information materials on Artificial Intelligence aimed at high school students.
Building on the awareness that AI is now a tool available to everyone, the workshop aims to develop the critical thinking of students, who will be urged to make a reasoned use of technology through the analysis of elements that are generally not considered and analyzed.
